The lack of regulation in the leasehold sector has resulted in a number of complexities and caused an unhelpful degree of uncertainty amongst consumers, all of this underpinned by a lack of transparency and education for consumers.

Rather than throwing the system out completely, we should work on fixing what is currently in place. A robust regulatory framework, adopted by the Government, will drive up standards and encourage a greater and responsible use of the leaseholder model.
